Woburn Dentist Earns Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition from the Academy of General Dentistry

Woburn, Massachusetts (July 12th, 2025) – The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), a professional association of more than 40,000 general dentists who are dedicated to professional excellence through the pursuit of continuing education, is pleased to announce that Ryan M Clancy, DMD, MAGD, of Lynnfield, Massachusetts, has earned the 2025 Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition. Dr. Clancy was presented with this recognition during AGD’s 2025 scientific session held in Montréal, QC, reflecting his commitment to lifelong learning and volunteering to communities in need, mentoring associates and new dentists, and participating in organized dentistry.

The Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition is presented only to AGD members who have gone above and beyond earning the association’s highest honor of Mastership. To accomplish this recognition, Dr. Clancy completed at least 1,600 hours of continuing dental education in 16 different dental disciplines. In addition, recipients must complete at least 100 hours of dental-related community/volunteer service. A general dentist is the primary care provider for patients and is responsible for diagnosis, treatment, management, and overall coordination of services related to patients’ oral health needs.

"Those who receive the Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition from AGD truly demonstrate leadership and embody the core principles and values of community service and a commitment to excellence in dentistry," stated AGD President Chethan Chetty, DDS, MAGD. "To Dr. Clancy this award represents a commitment to learning, leadership, mentorship, and a pursuit of excellence in the field of dentistry."

Dr. Clancy graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in May of 2001 and currently practices dentistry in Woburn, Massachusetts. Since its inception in 2005, only 551 of the AGD’s over 40,000 annual members have received the prestigious Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition.

"The Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition award that I have recently received from the Academy of General Dentistry is shared by my family who have supported the extensive sacrifices necessary to pursue higher education and lifelong learning. I am particularly proud of this award as it highlights service and volunteerism on a lifelong basis. I am truly humbled by this recognition from my professional peers.
